Suzanne Potts, LMSW, MPH
Executive Director
Suzanne Potts, LMSW, MPH, is a social worker, advocate, wife, and mother of two wonderful college-aged sons. She’s an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the School of Social Work at the University of Texas, Austin, and an active member of the Alliance of Social Workers in Sport. She most recently worked as the Chief Wellbeing Officer and National Director with Athletes for Hope for almost a decade, and has been an Executive Director, consultant, and capacity-builder with nonprofits for most of her career. Suzanne graduated with a BA in Psychology from San Diego State University (SDSU) in 1995 and then completed a dual Master’s in Social Work and Public Health degree program from SDSU in 1998.
She played club soccer at San Diego State University from 1990-1994 and served as Captain for two of those years, facilitating service and volunteerism with her team while building crucial leadership skills off the field. While soccer will always be her first love, she’s recently taken up tennis and plays on two teams in Austin, TX. Besides being humbled by her tennis game, she and her husband have recently adopted a Labrador Retriever puppy who keeps them active with walks and constant games of fetch, and they also have a geriatric cat who runs the house.
